Helping the Children of Africa

8/10/16  9:15am Since my trip in June we have been able to gather some new sponsors for several kids in our org. 10 very lucky kids who got gifts and supplies for school and will be able to continue being educated. A few babies will also be receiving food . We have more kids waiting for help. We want to reach out to those in the most desperate circumstances. Invite friends. This is the BEST WAY that we encounter new people who wish to help the needy! Thanks to all who have shared our posts and invited others to join us. Their lives are turning around. When this family below moved further away they thought they'd never see any of us again and never get help again . But we have done our best to keep them in our org and have made monthly visits to see their progress. Being a single  with mom 8 kids  and no job can't be easy. They receive food, clothing and small loan help to survive the harsh life in Africa. Nothing is simple in Africa and we are striving to show these...

7/3/16 11:53 am Imagine what its like to be a 12 year old boy living with HIV. Having your mom take your father to the police and demand that the dad helps with school fees. Luckily in grade 3 you had a friend of your mom who paid your fees but now the child of this friend got cancer so they can't afford to help you any longer. Your mom got tired of raising you and your 14 year old brother and she dumped you at your dads house where many distant relatives live .  Up to 25 people in just a few rooms. You own just 3 pants and 2 shirts and your older bro also shares clothing with you and with several other cousins. If kids are lucky they get 1 new outfit per year . You wore the same uniform or 3 years in a row though the uniform was from a former school so you don't match the other kids. You eat beans and cornmeal at school daily. Rice is served once a day for supper at night.  You family has so many people that most of you kids eat from large plate with your hands....

9:13am 6/29/16 Exactly 2 years ago we started to think and plan about our future as a charity, We knew that with the amount of money it takes to sponsor 100 kids each month why not put that into running our own small school and hire the best teachers. Teachers who are kind, reliable, honest and having a child's best interest are incredibly hard to find in a land filled with corruption and everyone is trying to survive daily they don't often put the needs of others (especially kids ) above their own needs. But I know somewhere out there are some teachers with kids interests in mind. Sadly a really great teacher left one school last year . Our staff and our students really liked her and she seemed to genuinely care about kids and helped them learn and tutored them a bit extra.   Many schools cram students 50-100 per classroom and   care very little about those they teach. Beating kids with sticks is also very common and we really   want better ...

3-3-15   11:20 a m  Now we raise funds for food to hand out in the 2 villages. Last Dec we helped 90 kids plus their parents & siblings with food.... Most  families cannot afford to buy any clothing for their children even if its at the cost of a dollar or less when they make only $2 a day. Let's make sure some of these clothes get in the hands of those who need them most.

Jan 14, 10:40 am    In Dec we provided 60+ kids with clothing and food in Mbiko.  We also gave food to 30 more needy families in the village of Kamuli where we also distributed multiple toothbrushes and pencils also.  Thanks to ALL DONORS who made this possible! See their happiness below .

The Betrayal of those who claim to "HELP" children. 10:43am     8-31-14 It all began in 2008 with 20 kids in a home who needed school fees. After 1 year of getting photos and even letters from them we found out the orphanage owner wasn't feeding them much except meal of "maize" a day and they were not attending a school regularly. The kids suffered so much and quickly moved on to live back at home with their families. The orphanage staff had only "recruited" these kids and while they were needy, most  were not orphans. Some had moms back at home who were just too poor to raise them. When they were promised a better life for the kids they let them go so they could have an education and meals etc which isn't what they got. Even when we mailed them clothes, shoes, toys most were taken and sold by the orphanage owner to make money for himself when he left the kids and just abandoned them all at home. If you've yet to help one now is the time. $15 a month is not much to change a life. YOU DON'T OFTEN EAT VEGETABLES .
