Helping the Children of Africa

8/10/16  9:15am Since my trip in June we have been able to gather some new sponsors for several kids in our org. 10 very lucky kids who got gifts and supplies for school and will be able to continue being educated. A few babies will also be receiving food . We have more kids waiting for help. We want to reach out to those in the most desperate circumstances. Invite friends. This is the BEST WAY that we encounter new people who wish to help the needy! Thanks to all who have shared our posts and invited others to join us. Their lives are turning around. When this family below moved further away they thought they'd never see any of us again and never get help again . But we have done our best to keep them in our org and have made monthly visits to see their progress. Being a single  with mom 8 kids  and no job can't be easy. They receive food, clothing and small loan help to survive the harsh life in Africa. Nothing is simple in Africa and we are striving to show these...

7/23/15      2:23 pm Mbiko is a very frustrating Village to work in due to the mentality of parents there. Also many teens are now showing low interest in studying. I'm not sure what the future holds for such an area where handouts are expected but adults want to do so little to receive the help. Like parents who ask for a small business loan and end up wasting the money just to pay rent or do whatever they want. Or they get an animal to raise and it ends up dying due to lack of proper care. A few families successfully raise livestock but its a 50/50 type thing. It either may or may not work. Such as sad way of life to be dependant on others and we don't want to continue to create such dependancy.. A hand up is better than a handout. If livestock is working for 1 family we'll keep that family. April 25,2013    9:48 am Many Families in Uganda find it hard to provide for their children. A typical family will earn $1-$2 a day. Food for 1 meal such as a bag of cornmeal or beans costs about 80 cents to $1 so families spend the majority of their income on food. So they will sometime's send their children to an orphanage or school to live if they can't afford to feed them at home. Children aren't often valued there and many end up on the streets either because they run away from abusive homes or because their relatives throw them out if no one cares about them. Imagine if you had to give away your child because you couldn't feed them. Consider donating today so a child can stay at home and not have to be sent away because they can't be fed and have their basic needs taken care of. March 16,2011 7:36pm I will be leaving for Uganda in 5 Days!!! The school needs a new kerosene lamp. They cost $110. Would anyone like to donate towards that? The school has no electricity so they are great need of this lamp!
