Helping the Children of Africa

4-23-17  8:08 pm  Drought killed most of the harvest all over Uganda during Dec, Jan and rain has just begun. So this means food costs have sky rocketed and many  needy families are living on very little to survive.  Most are farmers with no options when their crops die. We are asking for $600 to serve our most needy families with food and other supplies. Thanks to anyone who can give to relieve the affects of drought and famine! Give on the link above!

9:53 am This area is called Kiwolera a small village in Kamuli , Uganda where we serve 6 or 7 families and nearly 30 kids live there. Only about 5 have a sponsor at this time. Most homes have a dirt floor and many kids were sleeping on straw mats or tiny pieces of old foam as you see below. That's their tiny bed. LETS GET A FEW MORE SPONSORED SINCE School begins this week and there is a drought and high food prices. $15 a month helps 1 student stay in school. These families are all simple farmers raising greens or sweet potatoes. 7/23/15      2:23 pm Mbiko is a very frustrating Village to work in due to the mentality of parents there. Also many teens are now showing low interest in studying. I'm not sure what the future holds for such an area where handouts are expected but adults want to do so little to receive the help. Like parents who ask for a small business loan and end up wasting the money just to pay rent or do whatever they want. Or they get an animal to raise and it ends up dying due to lack of proper care. A few families successfully raise livestock but its a 50/50 type thing. It either may or may not work. Such as sad way of life to be dependant on others and we don't want to continue to create such dependancy.. A hand up is better than a handout. If livestock is working for 1 family we'll keep that family. Jan 14, 10:40 am    In Dec we provided 60+ kids with clothing and food in Mbiko.  We also gave food to 30 more needy families in the village of Kamuli where we also distributed multiple toothbrushes and pencils also.  Thanks to ALL DONORS who made this possible! See their happiness below .

Oct 17th , 2013 7:46pm    After our trip earlier this month to UG we have registered some new kids as part of our program. They are part of a very poor village and they have never had a chance to get a sponsor until now. We need your support to ensure that every new child gets a sponsor to help cover their school fees and supplies!
