Helping the Children of Africa

7/23/15      2:23 pm Mbiko is a very frustrating Village to work in due to the mentality of parents there. Also many teens are now showing low interest in studying. I'm not sure what the future holds for such an area where handouts are expected but adults want to do so little to receive the help. Like parents who ask for a small business loan and end up wasting the money just to pay rent or do whatever they want. Or they get an animal to raise and it ends up dying due to lack of proper care. A few families successfully raise livestock but its a 50/50 type thing. It either may or may not work. Such as sad way of life to be dependant on others and we don't want to continue to create such dependancy.. A hand up is better than a handout. If livestock is working for 1 family we'll keep that family. Jan 14, 10:40 am    In Dec we provided 60+ kids with clothing and food in Mbiko.  We also gave food to 30 more needy families in the village of Kamuli where we also distributed multiple toothbrushes and pencils also.  Thanks to ALL DONORS who made this possible! See their happiness below .

May 13, 2013 7:53pm Below are true stories of some of the kids who attend school in Jinja and they have found sponsors in our charity. One child was sent to live at school and her little brother was sent to live with a neighbor since their mom can't afford to pay rent. The mom used to come and dig in the school garden to make some money and she would  even eat at school since she couldn't afford food either.  Two kids had a fire at their home last week . T hey have said there was some damage to the home and it will need to be repaired but no one was hurt, They did lose almost all of their possessions in the fire which wasn't much to begin with. Many of these families barely have anything. One boy was abused by his uncle and made to work everyday and missed a lot of school.  He had no parents to care for him.  One girl was given away by her father who got tired of raising her and was then abused by her aunt who cut her arm.  Several hav...

April 25,2013    9:48 am Many Families in Uganda find it hard to provide for their children. A typical family will earn $1-$2 a day. Food for 1 meal such as a bag of cornmeal or beans costs about 80 cents to $1 so families spend the majority of their income on food. So they will sometime's send their children to an orphanage or school to live if they can't afford to feed them at home. Children aren't often valued there and many end up on the streets either because they run away from abusive homes or because their relatives throw them out if no one cares about them. Imagine if you had to give away your child because you couldn't feed them. Consider donating today so a child can stay at home and not have to be sent away because they can't be fed and have their basic needs taken care of. More children die from malaria then any other disease in the world. Mostly children under the age of five. There are 10 new cases of malaria every second.
