Helping the Children of Africa

12/27/16 9:36am Our kids had very simple Christmas Eve and Christmas Day celebrations at home with their families and at overnight church services. Many are away seeing relatives in other areas.  They will be getting all their belated Christmas gifts soon for the New Year. No one exchanges gifts in Uganda not even the middle class.. So anytime a gift comes its a blessing. Be ready for lots of photos of the areas I travel to. Happy New year to all thanks for all the support. Let's make 2017 ever Better for these kids!

12/5/16 4:33pm Wishing all of you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.  Thanks to all of ours sponsors.   Since my June trip we've had more than   12 new sponsors   join us and choose kids. (22 kids to be exact) This brings our grand total to around 143 kids now and the number grows daily. We're forever grateful to those who spread the word and helped us to gain new sponsors! Spreading the word is the very best way to help.  We are planning on delivering Food , Clothes, Sandals and soap to lots of kids & 10 new mattresses bringing our total # of mattresses donated this year to 16 this will make their new year brighter. 2016 has quite possibly been our best year ever with the number of sponsors and number of kids growing I'm sure one day we'll succeed with our goal of building a school to better serve Uganda's youth.  We hope we've done our very best to make Christmas and the New Year a  memorable one for all our kids and their fam...

11/12/16 Imagine living your whole life eating very little beyond the normal corn mail and beans you see below. Not many green vegetables, fruits or fatty, sweets items to keep you in good health.. no fats and sugar aren't great but in moderation they are needed in your diet. Also imagine sleeping on a dirt floor and having no bedding except an old torn dirty blanket. This is reality for many families in Uganda. We want these kids to have a better life. We want to educate them and provide them with better quality meals but we need your help... Donate $5 for greens or cabbage and we'll deliver to a needy family such as families of orphans or kids affected by aids who need to keep their health in good standing.  10:43am                10/18/16 We are raising funds to deliver food to some of our most needy villages in Kakira, Kamuli, Mbiko for the holiday season... Near Christmas or New Years we want these families to have enough food. The needs of 1 family in Kakira are always ongoing . The mom works hard to sell charcoal but was left this year all alone with 8 kids when her husband ran off. Then we have many more families in need in poor rural Kamuli where help is slow to reach. In addition we have pin pointed the most needy families also in Mbiko where one mom had a stroke and can't do any type of work since her arm and leg became paralyzed. Along with a few others in need . We are hoping to get $670 to provide food and some clothing to these families of whom we are sure will do without if not for your help. 6:53pm 9/8/16 We have registered new kids into our program and we've  been able to  take food to this large group when I visit twice a year, but its clear THEY NEED SO MUCH MORE!   Y ou can clearly see the need in the video It seems to be one large family and a few neighbors (30 or so people in total) . All these people fit into just 3-4 small homes. So 20 kids will be needing a sponsor for school (those who are old enough to join school ) this typically age 3 and above. Lots of them are staying at home because their relatives can't afford to pay anything for them to attend school, they have a time affording even food and clothing . Sharing this blog post will be of great help . Anyone is welcome to make a 1 time donation to help with food and clothes for this very desperate group of people. Their clothes are  only rags. Any assistance given is greatly appreciated . See their happy faces below for simple gifts.    

8/10/16  9:15am Since my trip in June we have been able to gather some new sponsors for several kids in our org. 10 very lucky kids who got gifts and supplies for school and will be able to continue being educated. A few babies will also be receiving food . We have more kids waiting for help. We want to reach out to those in the most desperate circumstances. Invite friends. This is the BEST WAY that we encounter new people who wish to help the needy! Thanks to all who have shared our posts and invited others to join us. Their lives are turning around. When this family below moved further away they thought they'd never see any of us again and never get help again . But we have done our best to keep them in our org and have made monthly visits to see their progress. Being a single  with mom 8 kids  and no job can't be easy. They receive food, clothing and small loan help to survive the harsh life in Africa. Nothing is simple in Africa and we are striving to show these...

5:06pm  7/10/16 Some of you might wonder how our program works and how kids are chosen to be part of a sponsorship program. Typically every child will have a home visit and we meet and ask their guardian , (a mom, grandma or aunt ) what work do they do to provide for their kids. Then they show us a report card. We don't have a lot of requirements for a child to join. We expect them to follow rules and go to class daily. We take any needy child regardless or race or religious background. We have Christian and Muslim students studying together in harmony with no issues. Some kids are Africa with Indian descent as is common in Uganda and many East African Countries. There is also no issue in the classroom between students.  We also make sure based on their home life if they truly qualify to join. If a parent tells us their child has been going to costly school and that the parent has paid the high fee then this will be a red flag since if a parent can afford this fe...
