Mosquito nets for a needy child

March 7, 2013 9:48 am More kids got monthly gifts from sponsors in Feb.  Africa, every year, over 700,000 children die needlessly from this completely preventable disease. More children die from malaria then any other disease in the world. Mostly children under the age of five. There are 10 new cases of malaria every second. Every 60 seconds, a child in Africa dies from a malaria infection. This is why every child will get a mosquito net for their monthly sponsorship gift in March. You can buy a net for a child if they have no sponsor for $5.50. Donate on our blog by clicking the yellow "Donate" button. We will post photos on our blog of kids who receive the nets! Below are photos of the kids with their Feb gifts.

Why Kids Need Sponsors

10:31 am   Dec 19, 2012 Kids who have sponsors have more confidence. You may be the only person who encourages them. They know if they have a sponsor they can't be sent away from school because no one pays their fees, so they worry less. They also meals at schools so they have to go hungry like some do at home. They are so happy to have a sponsor and they remember their sponsor by name and pray for them daily. Below are stories about a few of the kids in our sponsorship program. You can see they all are like most kids their age but they really enjoy school and the work hard at everything they do. Sponsor a child today by clicking on our Donate button to give with pay pal. Joan N. What an amazing and highly entertaining, kind and fun young girl she is. She is one of the most talkative, chipper little people ever. She's a typical 12 year old who loves Justin Bieber,  Nicki Minaj & Harry Potter. One thing that is different about her is that she lives in a ...

Life in Uganda

Nov 11, 2012 7:23 am During my trip to the school I saw many new things and many others that needed improving. The most major problem at the school is food .. But also rats in the food storage area. They carry so many diseases and if they get into the food they will pass on things that are usually deadly. So someone needs to either get cats or find another way to get rid of the rats. Plus leaving the huge pile of maize out in the open on the floor of a classroom is real unsanitary and its so easy for all kinds of bugs, animals and parasites to get in the food and the kids step all over it. Flies even fall into their food since its served outside. So the kids were still semi living like animals with animals. Rats run around in the dorms and can bite the kids and some wild animal (a leopard they think) came one night and killed/ate 6 goats. So I told the kids don't ever go out after dark at school. Esther with all her possessions Hasifa with all that she owns. ...

Suffering of Ugandan Child

Since visiting Uganda I've learned so much more about how the kids are treated there. If you are a step child you'll never be treated well. Step kids have to work and do almost all the chores at home. They are sometimes denied education and even food. Some have to sleep on the group outside their home. Aunts and Uncle and even grandparents sometimes neglect and abuse the orphans they are caring for since no one wants to raise someone else's child. The poverty is so awful there. Not just a lack of money but a lack of love and care for children in general. Kids as young as 3 are free to roam their villages. Usually No one comes looking for them they just wander from house to house playing with other kids. Food prices soared to record highs in Uganda within the past year so its even harder for a family to feed their children. Some kids live at school because their relatives have turned them away and said don't come back home. They are whipped with sticks and even cut wi...

Sponsor a Child $15 a month

March 5,2012 7:40pm So MANY KIDS Still need a sponsor. About 50 new kids joined New Victory School in January so they along with about 100 others need a sponsor so they can get an education and 2 meals a day. The cost is only $15 a month. Click on our Yellow DONATE button which takes you to pay pal. These kids are so needy. Most of them have only 1 parent and a lot live with Aunt's Uncles, or grandparents. Those who live with relatives typically aren't treated very well. They are denied education and even food, clothes etc. Most relatives don't want to raise an orphan that's not their own. Some of the kids live in small mud huts and a typical house has only 1 or 2 rooms shared by the whole family. If they have beds 2 or 3 kids share or they sleep on the floor on a straw mat. The kids eat only cornmeal and beans most days. They need more protein and iron in their diet. Some families can't afford much food. See photos of some of the kids who need a sponsor bel...
