Very Needy Village help for $15 a month!

a small village in Kamuli , Uganda where we serve 6 or 7 families and nearly 30 kids live there.
Only about 5 have a sponsor at this time.
Most homes have a dirt floor and many kids were sleeping on straw mats or tiny pieces of old foam as you see below. That's their tiny bed. LETS GET A FEW MORE SPONSORED SINCE
School begins this week and there is a drought and high food prices. $15 a month helps 1 student stay in school. These families are all simple farmers raising greens or sweet potatoes.
The harvests are small because of the intense daily heat and nearly 6 weeks with no rain .

We've raised $30 far. For some reason it does not show up on Chip in. Maybe because some people click donate instead of Chip in. So that's $30 of around $550 that I'd to raise. The only way to see or know these things is to visit and spend a good amount of time there. I'm still learning even after all these years. Many of our kids live without fathers but may have more than 1 person that they call "mom or dad" . In cultural traditions A child has a mom and any of her sisters are called "mom". The mom's brothers are usually called "Dad" as well. For their "Dad" any of his sisters are called Ssenga = Aunt. and any of his brothers are called "Jomba =Uncle. Now this mainly applies to deep villages since in Kampala and Jinja the 2 largest cities are filled with people who are educated and they know the difference between Aunt, Uncle , Cousin etc. Some people ...

NEW SHOES!!! March 17,2010 2:13pm Here's the kids with their new school shoes! Thanks to all who gave so the kids could have shoes! They still need help paying their rent and to buy chickens to raise. So if you can donate again it would be wonderful!!! You can see in the photos that your money is ALWAYS used exactly as specified!!! URGENT UPDATE 3-13-10 9:50 am The Orphanage is needing help paying their rent. They have to move to a new house since the one they are in now has been bought by somone and they are being forced to move within a week. All the kids are crying and worrying about where they will go since they don't have $100 (monthly) to rent a new house. Some of the kids wouldn't eat because they were too sad yesterday. Won't you donate and help the kids move to their new house? If they don't have the money by next week they will just be on the street with no place to go. They Need Your Help Now More than EVER!
