This is Baby Peace she's around 2 years old.

She was badly burned last week when she got too close to a pot of boiling water and it fell on her.

She is currently at Jinja Children's Hospital in Uganda and she's getting some treatment but her family is so poor and without help they can't afford to pay her medical bills.

Below is a photo taken one day before and a day after she was burned.

We're raising funds to provide a lot of needy children at the New Victory school with Christmas gifts. Some kids at the school have sponsors who will buy them gifts but many are not sponsored. Each child deserves a gift.

Some may just get a Christmas card this year but they we'd like to give them a small toy or school supplies also! We hope you will click on the Red Chipin box on the right side of this blog and donate to their Christmas gift fund. As always photos will be posted of all kids with their gifts. 100% of your donation goes to buy the gifts! Imagine not getting anything for Christmas. UPDATE!! Bunk beds are needed for the School Dorms. Two or three kids have to share 1 twin bed. About 10 triple bunk beds are needed. 2 have been provided so far.
Each triple bunk bed it $83! Some beds are broken so the kids really need more beds to sleep comfortably. Awhile ago they sleep on a wooden bed with no mattress at all!!

In Uganda
I saw kids who had holes in their socks, shoes, school uniforms and everyday clothes.
I saw kids who were couldn't even afford $5 for a school uniform.
Their school New Victory allows them to attend without a uniform but most Ugandan school don't. New Victory knows they don't have anything else to wear.
Some kids wore the same clothes everyday. Some were very skinny, dirty, or sick.
But most of all I saw kids who just wanted someone to care about them.
They want to be your friend. Most are orphans who live with a single mom, Aunt or Grandparent so they don't get much attention at home.
The school really needs more beds. 2 or 3 kids have to share each twin bed.
A mattress is $35 and a bunk bed is about the same price.

We were able to take lots of kids shopping, swimming, or to do other fun things they may have never done. We packed 18 kids in a 8 passenger van.

April 6, 2:30pm April 5, 10:30 am Uganda is Amazing Place!!! It's so beautiful but the kids are by far the best part. They are so kind and helpful. While walking through the villages a child would want to carry your water bottle, bag, camera etc. The would all fight to be right next you or hold your hand. I've never met children that are so needy but so polite and kind. Most kids at the school had old torn clothes on and their sock had holes. Most kids really need new school socks and shoes. Socks are $3 if anyone wants to give through pay pal. Click the YEllOW Donate button at the top of the blog! Any amount helps the kids. When I left they had only bag or rice and 1 of Flour so their food will not last long. To feed 140 kids daily it takes a lot of funds. Some kids didn't even have a bowl and they had to share with others. Almost none had spoons so they all eat with their hands and spoons only costs 30 cents. The kids are very smart but they have So Many Needs! April 4, 2011 5:24pm I went to Uganda to audition the kids of New Victory in hopes of bringing them here to America for a tour. They all have so much talent! The final 12 were picked. Here's their photos! It will take a lot of money to get the kids here so any amount will help tremendously! Thanks!

Uganda was Amazing!
The kids were the best part. The weather was great also.
We took the kids swimming and to the plaground!
They are all so needy but atleast they got 1 week of fun.

These kids still need many things they can't even afford simple low cost items like school socks, $3, spoons 13 cents each, School uniform $5.

You can see the school in the background it's made from metal sheets and wood.(Not very sturdy)
They don't own toys of their own and They share whatever they have.
They all need school uniforms, shoes, blankets, mattresses and more food.

WE NOW ONLY NEED SCHOOL FEES FOR 7 KIDS!
These 2 boys Avon and Julius are in despeate need for school fees.
They are from the North in Uganda and recently joined the orphanage.
If they can't go to school and get their daily lunch there then they may have to find another place to live.
Look at their old, torn, dirty clothes. Won't you help them?

We need to raise $198 to help 9 kids at the Good Samaritan Home go to school.
Those 9 have still not paid their school fee and can't attend.
The $22 per child fee would cover their daily meal at school for the next 3 months.

Chickens for Good Samaritan Orphanage

As of June 2010 the kids are no longer at the Orphanage,
they all attend a School called New Victory! The orphanage closed due to lack of food and funds!

Help the orphans at Good Samaritan Home get chickens!
Each chicken is only $3 and they will provide eggs and meat. The kids only get chicken during the Holidays but if they raise their own they will
have a lot more food! Right now the kids only eat beans and corn meal everyday if they can afford it. In the photo above the kids are holding the chickens they got for Christmas. That was the only time they had ever had chicken with their meal.

The Good Samaritan Orphanage is needing help paying their rent.
They have to move to a new house since the one they are in now has been bought by
somone and they are being forced to move within a week.
All the kids are crying and worrying about where they will go since they don't have
$100 (monthly) to rent a new house. Some of the kids wouldn't eat because they
were too sad yesterday. Won't you donate and help the kids move to their new house?

As you can see in the photo below a few of the kids are wearing their new shoes
(the little girl in the front row 2nd from the right is Oliver) and she got shoes and also 2 girls in the 2nd row got some also!
The other kids are wearing either old worn shoes or sandals.
All the kids are wearing new uniforms that we raised money for a litte while ago also! Without Everyone's help they would not have nice things like that.

As you can see they are in need of more blankets.
On the boys top bunk bed it looks like the foam of the mattress is coming through since it's old and torn. Blankets are $10 each.

the past 2 weeks. The camera that was used to take photos was in one box along with lots clothes, toys and candy! Thanks to all who sent money to buy these items!

These photos were all taken yesterday.
The Good Samaritan kids were happy to get Rice, and Chicken, something they can only have a few times a year.
Meat is very costly and they usually just have porridge or beans.

A box of clothes from a generous donor arrived at Good Samaritan Home today.
The box contained 10 pairs of boys shorts, 4 girls shirts, and 2 packages of underwear & pencils. If you would like to mail a box of gifts to the kids post a comment here with your email address and we'll be sure to get back to you ASAP!
We're still waiting for a few other packages to arrive.
I'm sure the kids were happy and surprised to get their new items!!!
When they receive their camera they will post photos of the kids with the items!

The Good Samaritan kids are currently in need of school fees. Their new school year starts 3 weeks from now. School fees are only $22 A YEAR! That $22 includes lunch everyday and tuition. Currently 6 more kids need their school fees to be paid. 13 have already been paid for! Click the yellow DONATE Button on the right hand side
of the blog! Did you know that most kids in Africa may only eat 1 meal a day. That's their school lunch. Some kids can't even afford a few dollars for their tuition so they share with their friends. Sometimes 4 or 5 kids eat out of 1 bowl.

Dec 15, 1:45pm Help the Good Samaritan Children have a holiday meal.
They would love to have chicken for Christmas. It is a Ugandan tradition for everyone to have some type of meat during the holidays. That is the only time they can afford it. If the kids don't get any funds for meat they will have to stay inside all day during the holiday because the director does not want them to feel sad if they see neighbors having a nice meal. Any amount you can donate will really help! They currently may only have tea to drink and no food at the orphanage.

ANNAMANI CHRISTMAS

Here's the story of the Annamani Orphanage in Eluru, India!
In 2003 at the railway station Durga saw an 8 year old begging for food and when she found out that the child was an orphan she offered him her home, warm meals and an education. Since then she has brought more needy children into her home. Today Durga is taking care of 19 children together with her husband, her Mom and sister. Some of the children are orphans while others were abandoned by their families as they were too poor to provide for them. Unfortunately Durga lost her job, and her husband only occasionally works as an electrician. The Annamani Orphanage is a 2 room house and all the kids sleep on the floor. Photos and videos are Below. The kids are need of new clothes for Christmas! Each child only has 1 outfit. Can you imagine only having 1 outfit?Also their only toy is an old flat soccer ball, they still enjoy playing with it though. Won't you consider helping these kids? I want them to have a nice Christmas. We've raised $30 far. For some reason it does not show up on Chip in. Maybe because some people click donate instead of Chip in.

This is Mary with her Grandfather Ojuuk. Her story is below!

There are 19 kids at Good Samaritan who need a uniform.
Here are some of their names and ages.
If you want to give them a uniform
Boys uniforms are $12 each, girls are $10.

If you pay for a uniform for 1 of these kids listed below then
you can also be their pen pal. They are the only kids
without a pen pal. I have photos of these kids also and a group
photo several posts back.

Here is Mary's story if any of you would like to help her.
You could also provide her with a mosquito for $3 or a mattress
for $10 along with the uniform. She would really like a new friend.

"The good Samaritan Children's Home Uganda, has been a major inspiration, not
only to the orphans but to many others around the region.

Every day we appreciate all we have as we are constantly touched by stories
like this one about the old Mzee Ojjuk and the grand Daughter, Mary.

Mzee Ojuuk's story I had a very good life before the war started. I did not have
to worry about adult matters.

It was not long before the militia arrived and burnt down their house and
destroyed their livestock – their only means of survival.

Ojuuk's family fled to a compound was attacked, and Ojuuk was separated from his
family, only to learn that his two sons and daughters was murdered and his wife
Killed in the panic of fleeing in the morning Ojuuk found all his children and
the wife killed and leaving the young Mary crying far in bush he took her and
they joined the camp in Soroti, they moved from camp to another town and
finally they arrived in Masese lake side suburbs in Jinja town.
Ojuuk and the granddaughter was brought to Good Samaritan Home by the village
leader. Reaching at Good Samaritan Home Ojuuk says I have finally found HOME for
my granddaughter I can now die and rest in peace.
Ojuuk is 77 years old and Mary 9 years old.

This is the new house that Good Samaritan is renting,
It is much bigger and better than their old orphanage.
It has running water but they are
currently having trouble paying their water bill. They are in need of $75.
If you can help it would be greatly appreciated. New photos of the items bought
for the kids last month should be posted by next week.
From the recent sell of the necklaces the children were able to get 5 mattresses,
30 lbs of Rice, 35 lbs of corn meal,
and 25 lbs of beans. They also got a soccer ball and a few other small items.
Beans cost 65 cents for 2 lbs and corn meal is 55 cents for 2 lbs
Rice costs about $1 for 2 lbs.
Mosquito nets were also bought for around 5 kids in June.

Money for food is always needed because feeding around 20 kids can get expensive.
You can make a donation for any of the items listed above just make a note on paypal
so we'll know what you would like the money to be used for!
I also have a few necklaces left and if you buy 1 the money helps buy theses items listed for the kids! The necklaces are $6 plus $2 shipping and I only have blue or green necklaces left.

I heard from Good Samaritan Home today and they are almost out of food.
They need donations in order to have food within the next few days!
In Uganda corn meal costs about .55 for 2 pounds and beans are about 60 cents for

He arrived at the Good Smaritan Children's Home a few days ago.
His grandmother brought him to the orphanage and begged for help,
but there are already 16 kids and more kids really add to the expenses of the orphanage.
All the kids need mosquito nets and they don't have beds so they would each like

in Uganda. The Ugandan children are from Good Samaritan and Amazima Ministries.

I'm currently partnering with orphanages in Uganda.
One orphanage is located in rural Jinja.
It is called the Good Samaritan Home.
The children range in age from 6-13.
They are very needy.
